"Take chances, make mistakes, get messy!"

Employee Bios

 Certified and Professional

TLC has a rigorous, multi-tiered pre-employment job application.  To be a Legacy teacher, employees must meet TLC standards (interviews, a physical exam, performance reviews) and State of Georgia standards (extensive background checks, CPR-First Aid certification, and 10 hours of yearly continuing education classes).   Though experienced, we consider ourselves "I DON'T know it alls" and are continually learning from our professional peers, families, and, perhaps the best teachers of all, the children!

We hire highly qualified individuals who expect the best from themselves, are enthusistic about our profession, and strive to provide the best for families.  In our staff you will find quality counsel as we partner with you to help your child succeed.  Our instructors are of varied backgrounds with one common goal: providing a premier education in a nurturing environment.  Simply put, TLC hires teachers who LOVE their "job" and believe their vocation is a vacation.

Our Director

Ms. Susan and her husband have three grown children. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education from UGA in Athens (Go Dawgs!) and attended graduate classes at GSU and educational courses at Harvard.  She has taught and directed for over 35 years including teaching first grade and kindergarten as a public school teacher .  After that, she worked simultaneously as a teacher and Director at St. Andrew Learning Center!  Ms. Susan has been a speaker at NAEYC conferences and served as a validator for NAEYC Accredidation of other day care centers.  She also served as Founding Director of Temple Sinai Preschool from 1986-2008.  She realized her life long dream of having her own school and is excited about her calling:  growing future generations!  Oh, and don't forget to ask about her four grandbabies!

Kitchen Coordinator

Ms. Betty is an expert on preparing healthy, appealing children's food... because she has four hungry boys of her own to feed!  She uses online resources, cookbooks, and suggestions to create new, exciting, often HOMEMADE meals.  It's always a treat to return from the playground and sniff the delicious kitchen aromas to decipher what Ms. Betty is cooking.  Every Wednesday is "make your own snack" day.  The children are given ingredients and encouraged to build something, like a bananapillar or p.b. spider.  TLC strives to serve organic foods, and you can view some of Ms. Betty's creations by visiting our "Go Green" tab.
